Highly Recommended Hamster Home
Made in England, which surprised me, I happily endorse this hamster hermitage for the one who wants extra space for his or her hamster. It wasn't easy to put together--it took me and my friend about 90 minutes to finalise construction of it. But once together, the hamster seemed to be exploring for hours. Another reviewer said to use vaseline to help fit the pieces together which seems like a good idea.
It has the main compartment (basement) along with the large circular compartment which has a barred opening around the top edge (big enough for hamster nose to get a whiff of air). There's also room to put other toys.
There are four towers that rise above the cage, as well as the back compartment which doubles as a carrying case for the hamster. Here's where the water is stored.
The wheel makes a bit of noise, but not enough to keep one awake at night.
As far as cleaning, the only parts that need to be cleaned are the main bodies of the cage,...
Not bad
Bought this rotastak for my dwarf hamster. However, he cannot enter the compartments above the ground level because he is too small to climb up the tubes.I thought when i bought it, it would have little ledges in the vertical tubes to facilitate the hamster to climb up, but the inside of the tubes are smooth. In that respect I find it not suitable for dwarf hamsters. However, I would like to comment on the fact the it is still a great buy, perhaps for a syrian hamster. The price was great for what you get, assembling takes a while but is manageable with a little patience, and delivery was very efficient.
What you see is NOT what you get
Ordered a creepy castle from Amazon as it looked the business. 4 towers and loads of living space. What arrived was almost a completely different product. It was smaller, not as cool looking, only 3 towers (if you could call them towers as they just sit on the base unit rather than being hi-rise) and no detatchable travel box.
The picture for this item is NOT the product being sent out.
