Great value for money - with a few points...
I bought this cage about a week before getting my two chinchillas and I'm glad I did because although it is a great cage, it did need a bit of tweaking before it was ready for my balls of fluff to call home. I decided to take the bottom ramp out to give more floor space for them to play as the ledges aren't incredibly big. Sure, they are large enough for them to sit and snuggle up against each other on, but they are inquisitive creatures by nature, they do play with the toys I provide for their amusement but I didn't really want them sky-diving from the top whilst trying to throw a ball around. I decided to purchase a few chinchilla ledges to dot around in order to provide them with extra look-out posts, observing seemingly being their favourite hobby.
The plastic shield that fixes around the bottom does stop a little of the sawdust and hay ending up on the carpet, but I do find myself having to hoover every morning despite such protective measures, so it's a good job the...
Perfect cage for my needs
I purchased this cage for my large rat. It was easy to assemble, which is good as it doesn't come with any instructions on how to do this. If you are considering this for a pet rat it is perfect provided you own a large rat, as smaller ones may escape through the bars. My rat loves it as it has provided him with more space to move about, and there is plenty of space to put toys in. This cage could easily hold two large rats, while still providing them space.
Not Suitable for Rats!
This is a nice cage for the money, be warned though its is NOT suitable for Rat's or Degu's as the bar spacing is to wide and unless your furries are like elephants they will easily squeeze out.
