DO NOT BUY
I recently bought this item even though it was very expensive as I wanted a nice big safe environment for my 2 baby rabbits. However less than a week after buying this product one of my rabbits was taken from the hutch by a predator and killed. The locks on the front hutch (sleeping/eating area) are completely inadequate and very easily accessible. I tried writing a review on the company website to warn other potential buyers but it was removed so I am writing this in hope to be able to warn people buying from here. I would definitely not recommend this buy to anybody!! PLEASE DO NOT LET STICKERS LITTLE LIFE TO BE ENDED IN VAIN. As of 1/6/09 I have been in contact with the company who are looking into this and will apparently call me and let me know what they intend to do - so if they are going to change the way it is contstructed I will amend my review. Until then - please be very wary of this hutch.
not a bad hutch/run
I thought long and hard before I shelled out for this and I read the reviews. I had to get some help to put it together so that's a bit complicated, but it is a reasonable size and well made. It has stood up to a northern Scotland winter without damage. My two rabbits like it but I still put them out in their larger run in the summer - when it's a decent day. One of my bunnies is half blind but she manages to run up and down the stairs without any problems and it is well-insulated. The catches on the doors could be improved on by having the two front doors individually fastening. but all in all it is a well designed and well made hutch/run. I have paid as much for much poorer quality over the years.
Well made and easy to put together
This is a great hutch and enables my rabbit to have loads of exercise during the week when I cannot let him in his run as I am out at work. Locks have been updated from those in the photograph but I did supplement them to be extra careful as our foxes can be very crafty.
The hutch comes flat packed and just needs a screw driver to assemble. Two person assembly which took just under an hour. Once assembled the hutch is not that mobile and so should be built near to your intended position.
This seller was selling this hutch cheaper than I have seen it anywhere else. It comes in three big boxes so I was grateful to have it delivered as I would not have had room in my car for it if I had purchased from local pet store.
